Circular Economy Program

Focus: Growing the circular economy in Hawai'i

Elemental Excelerator advances solutions to climate change and deploys them in the communities that need them the most. Each year, it finds 15-20 companies that best fit its mission and funds each company up to $1 million to improve systems that impact people's lives: energy, mobility, water, agriculture, and the circular economy. To date, it has awarded over $36 million to 99 companies. Through our partnership, Elemental is expanding it's circular economy program and network, helping to scale market-driven solutions that address waste challenges in our island state.

Supporting Women Entrepreneurs

Focus: The advancement of female entrepreneurs.

Elemental recruits the most talented female entrepreneurs across the agriculture, energy, mobility, water, and circular economy sectors to apply for up to $1 million in funding, uniquely designed for steel-in-the-ground (and data-in-the-cloud) demonstration projects. Women entrepreneurs are out performing their male counterparts, yet remain underrepresented and underinvested. Women-led companies in our pipeline achieve an average revenue of about 25% above male-led companies, yet raise 50% less. By providing Executive Coaches, we support women in STEM and innovation careers, both heavily male-dominated industries. Our coaches help women address specific pain points in their businesses and careers like designing alliances with colleagues and partners; working through difficult conversations; setting expectations to lead with confidence and clarity; and maintaining work-life balance in a demanding work environment. Since the program inception, our participants have celebrated many wins under the guidance of our coaches including being promoted to President; building advisory councils to promote alignment with their company mission; successfully overseeing tough transitions on their team and board of directors; and developing new training programs for their staff based on the learnings from their coaching. We're excited to continue to hold open the door for more of our women leaders to access specialized expert support.
